Problem Statement

This paper tries to explain the importance of graphic representations as pictograms in a global communication. The aim of this study is to represent and discuss about pictograms as different representations all over the world, but using common elements to be understood by the people. In this paper we have studied pictograms for different purposes and in the same time we have proposed new ones to be selected for a very good graphic language.

Purpose of study

The aim of this study is clear, to bring together pictograms from our daily life and new graphic representations of them and to include these ones in a special language without words. It is about a comparison between what is now in charge and what is suggested to be comprised.

Methods

It is not a special method to do such a study. However, we have tried to define a kind of method by using the comparison between graphic representations and we have realized a pattern of interpretation. It is very important to develop a working pattern for future new pictograms.

Findings and Results

This study was a challenge for us due to the generous area of such graphic representations.

Conclusions

Pictograms are elements of visual communication in a graphic language that are above all  boundaries of any writing and spoken language.
