Abstract

Corporate identity is an important concept that an organization uses to convey its personality and values to employees and clients and shape their perception about the organization. Companies are finding innovative ways to communicate their corporate identity to the public. One of the sophisticated approaches is to employ interior design as an important element. Interior design can help companies express their corporate identity through creating office space that influences the perception of the space occupants. However, the role of interior design in shaping corporate identity is not well understood. This paper reviews the studies that discussed the use of interior design elements, specifically color and lighting, to communicate the corporate identity. Based on the conducted reviews, this paper provides some recommendations in regard to the application of color effects and lighting schemes in offices to better communicate the company's identity.
