Abstract
Design education is a long transformation process. Especially, basic design education is a quite important primary step in terms of student’s realization of subjective accumulations and revealing his potentials in this process.
The aim of this study is to perform an experimental practice which integrates creative drama method and image that principal raw material of design education, to raise levels of creativity and awareness of students.
The study is carried out with fourteen students of landscape architecture departmant in five phase in basic design lesson. In first phase; A thirteen minute short film was watched by the students. In second phase; firstly, the students were asked to describe their own individual images, then the formed groups were asked to discuss students’ own individual images. In third phase; the formed groups were asked to make a scenario in order to concretize the image which the groups found. In fourth phase; the groups were asked to perform the written scenario in by using their body languages. The performances were limited with 5 minutes. In the last phase; after the performances, the images concretized by each group were discussed by the students.
As a result of this study; when even image of a single subject about a single object is open to infinite number of re-creation, it is experienced that this infinity doubles up in interfactional discussion and this process provides new productions of knowledge for the action that has multifactorial structure as design.
