Abstract


Problem Statement: The importance of infographic is indisputable in digital media. Nowadays, infographic is a powerful tool to illustrate complex vast information. There are, however, debatable visual approaches in the making of infographics. These problems come from wrong usage of graphical visual elements in representation of information. We must also know that Internet users have short attention span..

As researchers, we found some basic visual problems in current infographic structures that designers and scholars must know when they work on infographics. We can count some of these problems as layout mistakes, usage of irrelevant colors , wrong choice of format (horizontal and vertical), overused pictographic icons, and off-topic visual elements.

Purpose of Study: Every graphic communication requires certain factors such as; appealing, comprehension, and preservation. Implication of these approaches in creative infographics will help consumers, viewers or audience to understand the core of information. Understanding of how infographic works may help us to communicate much better way.

Methods: In this research paper, we will examine specific visual problems in detail. We will compare and analyze issues with specific examples of infographics. These comparative methodologies will help us to comprehend visual problems of infographics.

Conclusion: Designers should focus on functionality of visual story telling instead of manipulating people with unnecessary visual elements like illustrations, pictograms, charts, and cliché icons. Effective and powerful infographic requires clear recognizable visual elements to make viewers grasp core idea of the data. In order to create clear and quick infographic, one (designer) must be careful about the usage of the visual elements, the content, and the knowledge.
