Abstract: Ceramics has fundamental roots in history and also has an important  materiality in human life. The material based propeties of ceramics provides us to make connections with the fields such as; art, design, science (medical science, material science,  space technology, digital technologies, bioceramics, etc.) Besides, clay is still an important medium in art in our lives and will be. Today, artists and designers who choose to use ceramic material, face a paradox about shaping methods of the material inrelation with digital technologies and traditionally craft based shaping (forming) techniques.  For the artistic expression medium is an important matter, especially for the ceramic artist. There are already traditionally so many ways of techniques (doing and making) in ceramics. In the era that we are living in, we see that the digital technologies widen our perception of reality.

In this article it will be analysed about interpratation of ceramics, cultural significance and the place of this issue in art education for fine art faculties. The research method will be reference searching and interpretation. Interpretation of ceramics help researchers, artists and art students to understand the becoming process of the artworks through art writings and to help to discover their own dialogue and way of feeling and using the material for the future.
