The Comparison of the LearningOutcomes of the Field Courses in the Undergraduate Programmes of Art and CraftEducationRes. Assist. Berivan EKİNCİAnkara University Faculty of Educational SciencesAbstractTheBologna Process was launched at the European level to establish the EuropeanHigher Education Area, and within this scope to reconstruct the European highereducation institutions, and to ensure transparency, mobility and recognition inhigher education.Withinthe concept of Bologna Process, The National Qualifications Framework is asystem that explains national qualifications for higher education and therelations among these qualifications, that is recognized by national andinternational stakeholders, and that provides a systematic structure for qualifications.All national qualifications for higher education, knowledge, skills,competencies, learning outcomes, and the relations among these qualificationscan be explained in a coherent way through this system.Theefforts to formulate qualifications for fields of study within the scope of theNational Qualifications Framework for Higher Education in Turkey (NQF-HETR)prepared by the National Qualifications Framework Commission. In this respect,all universities restructured their programmes within the framework of theBologna Process. The undergraduate programmes for art and craft education werealso restructured in the faculties of education. However, there is a need formore research that compares the learning outcomes of the courses taught withinthe scope of these programmes across Turkey.Thisresearch compares and contrasts the theoretic field courses taught in theundergraduate programmes of art and craft education that are prepared by theCouncil of Higher Education in terms of ECTS credits, national credits, coursehours, and the learning outcomes based on knowledge, skills and competenciesdetermined in the “National Qualifications Framework”. The research is acomparative education research based on a survey model that is restricted tothe investigation of the field courses included in the current programmes. Theresearch investigates 30 faculties and their undergraduate programmes of artand craft education through their programme qualifications and updates on theirwebsites establishing the relationship between these qualifications and theNQF-HETR Qualifications for Teacher Training and Educational Sciences.Keywords: Bologna Process, Artand Craft Education, Undergraduate Programme, Learning Outcomes.
