Ruby Parker

Last modified: 2014-03-25

Abstract

The presentation will attempt to describe applications of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) Theory as observed in a student whose native language is Mandarin and a student whose native language is Spanish, both of whom are studying English as a second language.  Both case studies will proceed from a psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic analysis of the various factors that influence their learning of English, and the presentation will conclude with a comparison of both case studies, in an attempt to draw workable observations about teaching strategies for English learners.

Conference registration is required in order to view papers.
