Evaluation of Sculpture Education Program in Light of Technological Developments

Abstract


 

Technological advances, as in all areas of life, exert influence in the fields of education and plays an important role in giving direction to the flow of instruction. In general these radical innovations in technology, education / art education, and as a special field in education, especially in the field of sculpture, affect understanding of traditional materials and methods of application. As well as electrical and pneumatic tools which replace the traditional instruments, the possibilities of using computer technology in the field of sculpture with traditional training methods are widened the gap between contemporary methods. In sculpture education on the one hand while traditional methods and techniques used, on the other hand responding to the needs of the era, the era of technology hardware and equipment to adapt a workshop training program development in line is needed. In the face of these emerging technologies , education in sculpture and training programs of  institutions and how they renew their cover how these developments can be seen as a problem. This paradoxical situation is beyond being just an issue of sculptors  becomes an issue for the  sculpture education institutions and for academic staff. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of technology in the field of sculpture, and provide views for traditional instruments and pneumatic tools, as well as the possibilities of computer technology in the field of sculpture with traditional training methods in order to widen the gap between contemporary methods
