Abstract
Each year, around 5 mln. women give birth globally [1], while in Lithuania, it's approximately 23,000 [2]. Changes occurring during pregnancy and the postpartum period are considered the most significant in a woman's reproductive life [3]. Women become more emotionally vulnerable and may face various emotional and social challenges [4-6], increasing the risk of mental health disorders [7], approximately 10-20% experience depression or other mental health issues during this period [8-11]. These problems can have long-term consequences ranging from physiological changes to effects on psychological processes and behavior for the child and the entire family [12-13]. Although postpartum depression (PD) is of great interest to various specialists [14-15], there is a lack of research that takes a holistic approach [16] and includes a spiritual dimension. An important question is therefore raised: what is the links between Christian spirituality and overcoming postpartum depression? These links will be explored in the presentation and a scientific article will be prepared.
