Abstract
The present study analyzes the incidence of multiple intelligence and learning styles on adherence to antiretroviral therapy in patients with HIV-AIDS of an IPS of first level of attention in health in the city of Barranquilla. The methodological approach was assumed from a research approach with ex post facto design, with mixed evaluation method (qualitative and quantitative), including an additional set of sociodemographic variables, age, gender, educational level, marital status, as well as the elements of history, the diagnosis of undetectability (< 40 copies), types of multiple intelligence and learning styles. The sample was composed of 100 patients with a sampling of intentional non-probabilistic type, with the following inclusion criteria: clinical evolution of undetectability or < 40 copies in 4 periods of follow-up. Applied test of multiple intelligence Howard Gardner (1983) and the Scale of learning styles Honey-Alonso (1994). The results present significant findings that allow evidence of associations between the type of multiple intelligences, the predominant learning style and the degree of adherence to antiretroviral treatment of patients with HIV-AIDS. These results provide a reference for the formulation of comprehensive programs that strengthen the impact of the treatment and the quality of life of patients.
