Abstract


The purpose of this study is to determine the interest in technology and science of 422 primary and middle school students attending İzmir's different schools. In the study, general survey model was used and as data collection tools, “Personal Information Form” developed by the researchers and “Student Interest in Technology and Science (SITS) Survey” developed by Romine, Sadler, Presley and Klosterman (2013) and updated by the researchers were used. The Student Interest in Technology and Science (SITS) survey is composed of 5 sub-sections assessing the following dimensions: interest in learning science, using technology to learn science, science careers, technology careers, and attitudes toward biotechnology. At the end of the research, primary and middle school students’ interest in technology and science in terms of various variables, such as gender, age, school type, etc. The application has been carried out in the research and the analysis of the data is being continued.
