Abstract


The purpose of this study is to examine the opinions of self-perceptions and body images of obese adolescents and adults with excess Body Mass Index. Qualitative research approach was used in this study. The study group consists of 15 adolescents and 15 adults with more than 25 Body Mass Index (BMI) in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. These 30 obese individuals are composed of different sexes and age groups. In this way, different perspectives on research will be reveal. In this study, the some information of the individuals in the study group was collected through the Personal Information Form. Personal Information Form was prepared by the researchers. In this study, the data were collected by interview method. The opinions of obese individuals in the working group on self-perceptions and body images were collected by the Interview Form prepared by the researchers.
