Abstract


The present study aims to analyze the multidimensional impact of tourism in the Wayuu indigenous communities resident in the department of La Guajira, Colombia. For this purpose a mixed study (qualitative-quantitative descriptive) with the participation of representatives of the Wayuu communities and in addition a meta-analytic review of the impact of the tourism sector in the media and social networks on socio-cultural and economic dynamics of the Wayuu community. The results allow us to identify the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities arising from the tourism activity in the quality of life of the indigenous Wayuu communities especially at the social, economic, cultural and environmental.
