The packaging design is mostly on a shelf or rayon where the target audience can directly handle, examine and make purchase decision about it. During this time the packaging design can communicate with the audience by the help of the visual design.

When it comes to visual communicating with the target audience, illustration is one of the design elements that can preferentially be used in packaging design.  As a matter of course, in packaging design lesson projects one the design solutions come by illustrative approaches.
