The usage of bilingualism by the Albanian community in Montenegro

Abstract


This study focuses on exploring and researching the perceptions of bilingual people. Thestructured questionnaires have been used as an instrument for data collection. In addition, therehave also been conducted structured interviews with individuals who are the protagonists ofbilingualism.The research corpus is composed of professors and students of the Albanian minority communityat the University of Montenegro where the students of the first, second and third year studentswill respond to the survey questions and the co-communication. The aim of the study is to findout whether being a bilingual is a direct consequence of language contacts.These problems and phenomena have been addressed from the perspective of the social factorsinfluence and also by the reflection of change of these factors in language issues.The study showed and proved the study hypothesis that the fact of growing as a bilingual affectspositively life achievement. Bilingual persons throughout their lives have found it easier to learnone or more languages, other than the two languages they have learned since they were children.They have a high self-esteem and self-confidence, and also a strong character.
