Cooking up an understanding towards nanoporous materials
Last modified: 2016-12-12
Abstract
Nanoporous materials such as zeolites and silica play a crucial role in today modern society, with uses from fossil fuels to solar cells. Current policies in Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, has a focus towards a hands-on approach towards learning. As a case study, present pasta as a enjoyable and tasty method towards understanding nanoporous alumina, while exploring topics such as fast fourier transform for the analysis of pore structure, as well as deposition into the "pores".
