The policies and action for education and health must be designed taking into consideration the health determinants. The understanding of the health determinants of children descendent from immigrants in the school context, in a multidisciplinary approach with a social component, both in education and in health will allow the implementation of assistance models capable of promoting the equity and integration of individuals, families and communities. Nurses can play a decisive role in satisfying the social and health needs of citizens, in particular the most vulnerable ones.
