Abstract

As teacher education enters a new era, the Virtual Reality Teaching Training (VIRTT) system addresses the critical gap in providing realistic, immersive training environments for pre-service teachers. VIRTT simulates authentic classroom settings using VR technology, allowing trainees to practice and refine their teaching methods. The study involved 30 pre-service teachers from tertiary institutions, who engaged with the VIRTT system through AltSpaceVR. Methodologies included qualitative feedback analysis and quantitative assessment of teaching competencies. Key findings revealed that VIRTT significantly enhanced participants' teaching skills, understanding of educational concepts, and ability to manage classroom dynamics. User feedback highlighted the development of distinct teaching personas and suggested improvements in the conceptual learning modules for greater efficacy. Challenges identified included adapting to VR technology and optimizing user interface design. The study emphasizes VIRTT's originality in offering a modern, interactive platform compared to traditional training methods. The results support VIRTT's substantial contribution to teacher education by preparing educators to confidently address real classroom challenges. Enhancements in content and interface design are recommended to maximize the system's training potential. This research underscores VIRTT's capability to cultivate proficient educators equipped to meet the demands of contemporary education.
